DESCRIPTION Pál Veress Budapest, 1920 - 1999, Budapest. Painter, journalist. He studied art at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts in 1940. His master was István Szőnyi. He worked as a translator for the Hungarian Telegraph Office from 1948. For decades he worked as a journalist. He retired as editor of the newspaper Világgazdaság in 1980. From 1948 he had solo exhibitions at the Fényes Adolf Hall, the Ernst Museum, the Vigadó Gallery, Miskolc, Pécs, Genoa, New York, Paris. He has shown in collective exhibitions at the Vigadó Gallery and in Paris. He was awarded the Distinguished Artist Medal in 1998. His works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery and in several Hungarian museums.
